Fun in the Sun

Getting lots of work done these days for all the Spring weddings, but looking forward to sneaking off to Florida at the end of this week for a little relaxation and sunshine. Day dreaming of jean shorts {yeah, I said it} and SPF 50 {yeah, I’m pale.}

Southern Weddings Shout Out

Even though I am a New England gal at my core, I still love reading Southern Weddings magazine and blog. It has the cutest ideas and it’s bursting with all the Southern charm one can handle. One of the lovely editors, Emily, is getting married and is sharing her wedding planning with the SW readers. Yesterday she gave our watercolor save the date {a colab with Love, Jenna} a little shout out– very exciting! Thanks SW!

New Pals

It’s always fun to meet other people who work in the wedding industry. You get to swap war stories and you know right away that they “get it.” It’s an easy place to make friends. I was lucky enough to be invited to City Winery’s wedding event this past Tuesday. It was full of the best and brightest in this biz {also full of amazing cheeses which I got to know quite well}.  I met the lovely girls from Poppies and Posies and the wonderfully talented Jen Huang of Jen Huang Photography. Both of these companies are bursting with talent, it’s a little ridiculous. Happy to have some new friends in the industry and some new inspiration. Go check out some of their amazing work!

Paris Dreaming

My darling and lovely intern has taken off for Paris this week. I couldn’t not be more excited for her/envious! In her honor, I will be eating loaves of French bread, drinking French wine and listening to Édith Piaf. Au revoir mon ami!

SCD Valentine’s Designs for Paperless Post

Happy Monday everyone! January made it’s presence known with a little snow this weekend in NYC. I am looking forward to cozy February when everything is red & pink and just cute enough to make you forget it’s winter. With love in the air I thought I’d share the new Valentine’s inspired designs I created for Paperless Post. The “double the love” design is my fav. I have a few other projects cooking with Paperless Post for the Spring so stayed tuned for those designs soon!

The teacher becomes the student

Alas folks, it looks like I am in the hot seat myself! After a few years of guiding brides through their wedding needs I am now my own {potential worst!} client. I am very excited to go on this little adventure and think it will really help me be a better vendor. I am also looking forward to sharing what I end up designing for myself. Let’s hope they can live up to all the “Hey, who is going to do your invitations?” jokes. Exciting times!

Tea & Tissues

Got that ole’ January bug that is floating around. Complete with a red and runny nose. I sound like that kid you always got stuck sitting next to during a standardized test who would constantly sniffle. Gross.

Just My Type

As a little holiday bonus, my intern gave me this really fun book that I’ve absolutely blazed through in the last couple of weeks. It’s the perfect on the train/late at night read where every chapter holds great little gems of information on all the best (and worst) fonts. For a type junkie like me, it was a positively addicting read. Type lovers: I highly recommend it! My favorite section? A generous nod to the always classic Futura. So if jokes about Comic Sans make you chuckle, this is the book for you.
