One of the best parts about going with letterpress printing is the extreme crisp finish you get on a job. Flat printing is great because you can use lots of color and really play up the design. But if you want a simple, clean design then letterpress is the way to go. One of my favorite letterpress treatments is blind impression printing. This is when the printer makes a plate for a second color to be printed but leaves out the ink. The design is then pressed into the paper but with no ink, creating the blind impression. It makes for a really cool design effect. The job below has a compass blind impressed to a thick letterpress stock. I’m absolutely in love with how it turned out!
