This weekend I stumbled upon the HBO movie, Cinema Verite, and fell in love with it. The movie is about the making of the 1970’s PBS documentary “An American Family” staring the Loud Family. I’m sure a lot of it was fabricated but at the core you got the story of what was essentially the first reality show in America. The movie was great and Diana Lane was a knock out as Pat Loud. Much to my delight, PBS was airing the original documentary all weekend which I drank right up. {so… clearly I got out a lot this weekend} The fashions in both the HBO film and the original PBS series were so fun- pure 70’s. Kind of made me want to wear short skirts, big glasses and causally smoke cigarettes all day. If you get a change to check out the HBO movie or the actual series, I highly recommend it!
