The Knot :: Playful Palette

Last year one our good friends, Jove Meyer of Jove Meyer Events, reached out with a very exciting opportunity. He would be styling a shoot for The Knot and asked Swiss Cottage to create the paper goods for the event. Once he described his vision – bright colors, fun patterns, and bold shapes – we were in!

Jove and all of the other contributors did a truly amazing job pulling everything together. We were so excited to see the photos after the shoot and waited to share them with bated breath. After much anticipation, the time has finally arrived!

Everything came together so beautifully. It’s a great example of how bold design elements can be combined to create a refined and elegant look. The table setting is my personal favorite – everything is unique in its own right without needing to compete with the other pieces.

SCD in BRIDES (June/ July issue)

BRIDES magazine is always so full clever and cute ideas for brides, designers, etc. I love getting the latest issue; I kick back and enjoy the pages and pages of colorful inspiration. This month was no exception as it was their color issue and lucky for us, we were able to be a part of it! The design that made the cut were our fun popsicle programs that actually double as fans {which is good for me as the heat and I have a bit of a tumultuous relationship!} It was definitely one of my personal favorites and perfect for a summer celebration. A HUGE thank you to the amazing team at BRIDES for including us in this issue; all of the ladies are top notch over there! Keep the great ideas coming!

SCD in Martha Stewart Weddings

It’s a complete dream to be included in the Martha Stewart Weddings special travel issue! I’m a travel junkie and bride so this magazine was a pitch perfect read for me. Every issue of Martha Stewart Weddings is so meticulously edited and styled that I’m always left beyond impressed. To actually see our work on the pages though, that is pretty surreal. I think the checkout girl at Barnes & Noble thought I was a little creepy when I bought 5 issues and had this weird glazed over perma-smile thing going on… sorry about that.

Since this is the travel issue, one of the features focuses on unexpected places to wed. One of which was the Heceta Head Lighthouse in Oregon–it’s amazing and kind of my dream venue. The feature gives a few great tips about the area, shows some excellent goodies you could purchase in and around the area {Hey Stumpown!} Our lighthouse suite {pictures to follow on our blog next week} was shown as an idea for an invite suite. The suite is completely hand lettered with some cute supporting illustrations. It’s nautical without being over the top.

Thanks again to everyone at Martha Stewart weddings for including us in this issue- we are humbled to say the least.

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons

Almost every client I have at one point mentions how they originally planned to do a destination wedding, it’s such an alluring idea. Small guest list, beautiful location, built in vacation… not a bad idea! Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Magazine recently reached out to us to get our two cents on the stationery world and more specifically our custom illustrated suites. It was fun to chat a bit about what we do and what we see going on in the crazy world of wedding invites. Thanks for the help Erika!

SCD on Style Me Pretty

And we’re back! Italy was great, such a treat to get away for a bit. And let’s be honest- the food made the trip. I was so excited to come back and see Kwanji and Howell’s wedding featured on Style Me Pretty! The amazingly talent Ara, from Rock Paper Scissors Events styled this wedding from head to toe with vintage cinema elements while still keeping within Kwanji’s yellow and gray color scheme. Ara has a keen eye for details and style so when she asked me to help with this wedding, I jumped at the chance. Here are a few shots from the feature, you can see the full wedding here

Swiss Cottage in BRIDES mag!

Hot off the presses! Swiss Cottage was featured in the March issue of Brides Magazine!

It’s super exciting to see ourselves on the pages of such a classic mag with so many other great vendors. They featured one of our custom silhouette save the dates. This one was done with really bright, punchy colors. I love the distressed envelope liner- it’s a cool contrast to the modern design.

Thanks for the love BRIDES! Go get a copy today and check it out!
